Imagine Dragons to transmit Starfield Children of the Sky from the Moon on Lonestar Mission

Imagine Dragons has a special treat in store for their Los Angeles fans.

The group’s Loom World Tour is set to wrap its North American leg at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 27 with a one-night-only performance featuring the LA Film Orchestra and special arrangements from legendary game composer Inon Zur.

Imagine Dragons will also team up with Bethesda Games Studio, for a live debut of their track, “Children of the Sky (A Starfield Song).” Additionally, the track “will be transmitted back to Earth from the surface of the Moon as part of Lonestar’s Freedom Mission flying with Intuitive Machines to the South Lunar Pole in early 2025,” per a release.

“Our goal is to inspire the next generation of kids to be excited about the future of space and technology, which is why we chose ‘Children of the Sky’ as the first song in history to be broadcast from the Moon,” said Ryan Micheletti, an investor in Lonestar through The Veteran Fund, in a press statement.

Last month, the band’s drummer, Daniel Platzman, announced that he’s leaving Imagine Dragons to focus on his film composing career. “After an incredible journey of over a decade, I will be departing the amazing band that is Imagine Dragons,” Platzman shared in a press statement. “I wanted to share my deepest gratitude to you, the fans, for your unwavering support and sharing in the joy of music with me. Connecting with you all has truly been the highlight of this chapter. I’m excited to be able to share more soon about the projects I’ve been hard at work on over the past few months centered on my biggest passion: film scoring and composing. I promise you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned.”
